German East Africa C.o.d.-R-letter from the wartime: “Amani German East Africa 3. 8. 15” = War date, neat strike on registered C. O. D. Cover over “6 Rupee 80 lighter” with single franking 30 lighter, registration label (type 5a, Einfeldt no. 4) and cash on delivery label to Tanga and returned with on face violet postmark “return”. On the back handwritten notation “uncashed signature 4 / 9”, arrival postmark “Tanga -a 4. 8. 15” and arrival postmark “Amani 5. 9. 15”. In perfect condition. To the sender impression: “B. L. ” based for “organic agricultural institute”. It was the central office institute for scientific research for these posting in the German colonies. Established was it 1902. from Amani institute from kicked the African violet through the earls from Pückler via Hamburg and Berlin his triumphal march on German Fensterbänken and throughout Europe at.
