DER VIOLETTE MERKUR 1867-1900” - die große und bedeutende Spezialsammlung Dr. L. Streit/Ignaz Dörfler. Vor gut 100 Jahren begann Ignaz Dörfler sich intensiv mit der Ausgabe 'Violetter Merkur' zu beschäftigen. Seine eindrucksvolle Spezialsammlung v.a. nach den einzelnen Auflagen (es wurde etwa eine Auflage pro Jahr - also über 30 Auflagen gedruckt) präsentierte er nicht nur auf der Internationalen Ausstellung in Wien 1923, er verfasste auch diverse Artikel über diese Ausgabe. Durch die wirren Zeiten (v.a. der Kriege) gelangten die Marken (leider durcheinander, aber unversehrt) über Vertraute und Verwandte schließlich zu Dr. Ludwig Streit, der auf die diversen Unterlagen Dörflers zugreifen konnte und über Jahre die Studien und Forschung wieder aufnahm und weiterführte. So entstand/auferstand diese, den Experten wohlbekannte Sammlung neu und in der jetzt vorliegenden Form. Die einzigartige Kollektion besteht aus weit über 2000 gestempelten Marken, die bis ins Detail den einzelnen Auflagen zugeordnet und beschrieben sind. Dazu etwa 500 postfrische/ungebrauchte Marken bis hin zum 100er-Bogen sowie diverse Unterlagen (Aufsätze Dörflers, Sonderabdruck der Wiener Ausstellung 1923, die umfangreichen Notizen/Listen Dr. Streits u.a.). Wertbezogen beeindruckend sind vor allem die vielen Einheiten. So finden sich ungebrauchte 4er-Blocks der Typen I und II (auch im groben Druck) oder eine Rekonstruktion (aus 3 großen Einheiten) des Bogenwasserzeichens ''ZEITUNGS-MARKEN.'', gestempelte Einheiten aller Typen sind in reicher Fülle ebenso vorhanden wie die ganze Palette der Farbnuancen, etliche Streifbänder, Privatzähnungen, Abarten und Besonderheiten sowie eine große Vielfalt an Entwertungen/Stempeln. Eine wirklich beeindruckende Spezialsammlung, die jedem Philatelisten das Herz höher schlagen läßt. (K)
