Thai Occupation of Kedah, 1944 (Apr 4) “Contrary to Regulation” postage due return censored cover original addressed to Singapore, Original stamp was removed from back of cover with the content (cash) was removed. Also removing original sending date but clearly tied with Alor Star Kedah English only double ring CDS (Proud D15). Cover front written in red ink “Contain cash retour, Due 30 cts, R” and address crossed out. Bilingual boxed “Contrary to Regulations” marking on front. This marking in unrecorded in Proud for all 4 states and cities. Japanese Occupation of Malaya 10c postage due strip of 3 (Scott NJ12, JSCA 7M214) tied with Alor Star Kedah English only double line CDS (Proud D15). Alor Star registration label with index A tied with Alor Star Syburi English only triple ring CDS with hand written date April 4. Boxed Alor Star number 3 Japanese censor marking on both front and back. The use of Japanese Occupation of Malaya postage due stamp on a Thai occupation of Malaya items clearly showed that no other postage due stamps were available for use. An absolute stunning showpiece recording a very rare occurrence of which there is no other example recorded. Estimate HK$ 20,000 - 30,000.
