China, 1911 (6 Mar.) envelope from Tientsin to Hong Kong (13.3)...





China, 1911 (6 Mar.) envelope from Tientsin to Hong Kong (13.3) via Shanghai (10.3, with “17" year error) and returned to Tientsin (July segmented bilingual c.d.s.) bearing C.I.P. 3c., tied by “Tientsin" bilingual c.d.s., showing “Refused" framed h.s. (Proud I170, earliest recorded date) partially overstruck by rare “Victoria/Hong Kong/D.L.O." c.d.s. (Proud D3; 18.3, latest recorded date), with “T" h.s. and “2" charge adjacent and various backstamps and h.s. on reverse, the “D.L.O." c.d.s. is only recorded by Proud for only three months (9.1.11-18.3.11) and the “Refused" handstamp for approximately a year and a half, envelope opened out for display and slightly reduced at left, nevertheless a fascinating returned cover, full of character.
