Hawaii 1851, 13c Blue, ‘Hawaiian Postage’ (3). Crocker Type II – the righthand position in the setting of two – margins all around, rich color, faint traces of a manuscript 'X’ cancellation, which has been skillfully removed, tiny pinhole, a few spots of the design at bottom have been touched up in ink. VERY FINE APPEARANCE. ONE OF THE FEW EXAMPLES OF THE 1851 13-CENT 'HAWAIIAN POSTAGE’ MISSIONARY WITH UNUSED APPEARANCE. 51 used 13c 'Hawaiian Postage’ Missionaries, most of which have been heavily cancelled by grids. Although this stamp has been treated to remove the manuscript cancellation, it is nonetheless one of the most attractive examples of this Missionary extant. Ex Potts, Admiral Harris, Ishikawa and Golden (Collector C). With 1994 and 2015 P.F. certificate.
