Mongolia. Russian Post Office. Sharasume. 1917 (21 Jan.) red band envelope registered to Peking bearing, on the reverse (with the address in Russian) 10k. on 7k. (5) tied by good strikes of the Sharasume despatch c.d.s. with a further strike alongside and three different Peking arrival c.d.s. (January 1918), the top left corner with the red and black registration label which is an unrecorded type without brackets around Mongolia; the address side bears Russian Post Office Peking c.d.s. for 1918 (2 Jan.). A scarce and desirable cover.

Provenance: M.F.Shooliack . .  . . Sharasume is the main city in the western Altai region. Hellrigl records twenty covers between 1915 and 1919 (this one is not listed)… . The registration label bears aspects of both types 2 and 3 and may have been issued between these two
