Greece Large Hermes Heads Paris print 1861 (November 25th) cover from Chios to Syros forwarded through the Austrian P.O. (cds and straight-line “FRANCO” pmk under the stamps) charged upon arrival “20” (lepta) for domestic postage, paid with the addition of 1861 Paris print 1l. chocolate in strip of five, 5l. green and 10l. orange on blue. Austrian levant letters were paid only to the Greek border. With the exception of 5l. (2 margins touched) all other Very fine. Very rare and probably the finest such franking extant. An extremely rare and beautiful cover of the highest quality. Signed Mondolfo. (Hellas 1c+3b+4b).
