Liberia. 1862 (28 July) entire letter headed Mount Coffee, to New York via England, with two fine strikes of the “saved from the wreck/of the cleopatra”, New York arrival on the front and red London transit (13.10) on the reverse, and further endorsed “Saved from the wreck/of the "Cleopatra”.. Some minor faults though attractive and extremely rare. Photo Note: The “Cleopatra” was totally wrecked on August 19th. at Shebar River by Sherbro, West Africa. Her specie was all lost but part of the mails was saved. Literature:. Illustrated and described on page 16 of “A History of Wreck Covers” by A.E. Hopkins (Estimate 3500 - 4000)
