Sardinia 1851, First Issue, 20c blue extremely fine example with wide margins all around tied by mute grid and „TORINO 29 DIC 51“ cds alongside on entire letter sent to Roma, STATO PONTIFICIO. A rare partial franking before the introduction of the „convenzioni Austro-Pontificia“ of 1852. The 20c stamp paid only for the internal postage up to the border, at arrival in the Pontifical States 12 bajocchi postage due was charged. 1851, 20c esempio di blu di grande finezza con ampi margini tutt'intorno legati da mute grid e cd “TORINO 29 DIC 51” a fianco di un'intera lettera inviata a Roma, STATO PONTIFICIO. Un raro affrancamento parziale prima dell'introduzione delle convenzioni Austro-Pontificia del 1852. Il francobollo 20c pagato solo per l'affrancatura interna fino al confine, all'arrivo negli Stati Pontifici era di 12 bajocchi.
